The Pokhara Bird Society organized a one-day “Summer Bird Hike” on July 5, 2024. The event attracted more than 40 participants, including five from various countries such as the Philippines, the UK, the USA, and India. The hike began at Jogimadi (Bottle House) and concluded after a two-hour walk at Rinje Nasa Homestay. Along the way, participants spotted various birds, including an owl.
All participants stayed overnight at the homestay and returned to Pokhara the following day. Although birdwatching was somewhat disrupted by continuous rain, the exceptional hospitality at the homestay, coupled with folk songs, dances, BBQ, and the sense of community, made the hike an enjoyable and memorable experience.
